Cosmetic Lip Tattoo.

Cosmetic Lip Tattooing/Lip Blush Tattoo is used to enhance the natural lip shape, symmetry, and colour. A customised pigment is applied to add definition to your lips and conceal imperfections based on your skin tone and personal preference. The shade of colour is chosen from our vast array of shades - this can be as natural or as intense as you wish.
Your lips will look like opaque lipstick on the first day, however, they will soften & lose up to 40% of colour as they heal.

Once healed you simply have to apply a little gloss or balm and your lips look beautiful 24-7! Lips that won’t melt in the sunshine or smudge in the gym.

What to expect?

  • There may be moderate swelling, redness and bruising for the first 3 days.

  • If you experience swelling, use an ice pack for no more than 15 minutes at a time to reduce swelling.

  • During the initial healing period, there will be flaking of the skin. If there is some scabbing or flaking, do not pick, and allow the scab/dry skin to come off on its own. This usually takes place within the first 3-4 days.

  • Expect the colour to lighten up to 40% once the healing process is complete.

  • Color may appear uneven at different stages of healing. Be patient. This is a process that does not yield immediate results.

Before your Cosmetic Lip Tattoo Appointment

  • A patch test must be carried out at least 48hrs prior to your treatment with NO EXCEPTIONS.

  • Your lips cannot be dry for the appointment. If they are dry we will need to reschedule. You should exfoliate your lips for 7 days before your appointment to remove any dry skin. You can use a dry tooth brush or lip scrub. To create your own lip scrub, mix a little coconut oil & sugar. For the week leading up to the appointment you must moisturise your lips as much as possible (Carmex or Elizabeth Arden 8hr Cream reccommended) and drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated. Dry/chapped lips will NOT retain pigment.

  • For your healing we strongly advise all lip clients to purchase this anti-viral/cold sore medication (200mg tablets one treatment) regardless of whether you suffer from cold sore outbreaks or not.

Start taking the reccommended dose of tablets 2 days before your appointment & for the following 3 days. The tablets will reduce your healing time down from up to 14 days to 5-6 days.

Consult your GP before taking, stopping or altering any form of medication and/or supplement.

After your Cosmetic Lip Tattoo treatment

DO NOTS

  • Not hot drinks 48 hrs

  • No exercise 7 days

  • No sunbeds or tanning 14 days

  • Do not touch your lips with your fingers - the skin has been broken and you are at a much higher risk of infection.

Aftercare

Lips will feel swollen and very dry after your treatment. Apply aftercare balm provided on lips continually throughout the day - too much balm is never enough. This should be done until the skin is fully healed. Do not allow lips to become dry. This may interfere with the final healed color. DO NOT USE YOUR FINGERS to apply ointment to the lips area - only cotton buds. This will reduce the risk of infection.

After lips are no longer tender to the touch they may become flaky - day 3-4. This is normal and to be expected. Please do not pick or scratch at them as this will lead to patchy, uneven results.

Lips heal in three stages: Too dark - Too light - Just right. This takes 4-6 weeks to happen. You gotta trust the process!
